Ingredients

  • For paratha dough:
  • 2 cups - Wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp- Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water to knead
  • For the filling:
  • 1 cup- Fresh green gram
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • 1-2 -flakes - Garlic
  • 1 inch piece - Ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • 3-4 pinches - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • 2 pinches - Citric acid, powdered
  • 3-4 pinches - Asafoetida
  • 1/4 tsp- each- Cumin, Mustard, Sesame seeds
  • 2 - Bread slices
  • 1 tbsp- Oil.

How to Make

  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and add the sesame seeds, ginger, green chillies, turmeric powder, garam masala, asafoetida, garlic, citric acid and chilli powder.
  • Add the dal, 1.5 cups of water and salt.
  • Cover and cook till dal is separated and tender.
  • In the meanwhile, knead the dough and divide it into equal portions.
  • Make small balls with each portion and flatten it.
  • Now take a portion and put 1 tbsp of the cooked dal.
  • Cover it well with the dough.
  • Now roll out like parathas.
  • Heat a griddle and cook with 1/2 tsp of oil frequently cook until both the sides are crisp.
  • Serve with chutney.
