How to Make Healthy veg tikkis

  • Grate carrots, chop onion, chilli, mint and ginger.
  • Boil raw banana for 10 mins. Cool, peel and mash.
  • Chop dates and grind ground nuts coarsely.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard.
  • Once they crackle, add urad dal, chopped onion, ginger, chilli and stir.
  • Add red chilli powder, salt, carrots and fry.
  • Cook for 2 mins. Add chopped mint, chat masala and remove from heat.
  • Cool and add mashed raw banana, lemon juice and mix well.
  • Divide into 6 to 8 portions and stuff with the chopped dates.
  • Make a patty or tikki and coat with groundnut powder.
  • Fry carefully in a non-stick pan on medium heat till crisp.
  • Serve hot.
