Ingredients

  • Brown sugar - 3/4 cup
  • Honey - 230 g
  • Lemon - 55 g
  • Orange peel - 55 g
  • Plain flour - 1.5 cups
  • Almonds - 100 g, coarsely chopped
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp
  • Powder Nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • Cloves - 1/4 tsp
  • Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
  • Icing Sugar - 3/4 cup
  • How to Make Honey Lemon Bars:

    1. Take honey and brown sugar in a pan.
    2. Bring it to a boil until sugar dissolves.
    3. Allow it to cool.
    4. Place honey mixture in a bowl.
    5. Add orange peel, flour, almond, baking powder and spices.
    6. Knead it into a smooth ball dough.
    7. In a baking tray, place baking paper.
    8. Now roll the dough on a lightly dusted surface to 1 cm thickness.
    9. Place this rolled dough in the baking tray, cover with a cloth and leave overnight in a cool place.
    10. Preheat the oven next day to 200 degrees C.
    11. Slice the roll into bars and bake for 15 minutes.
    12. Remove and dust icing sugar while it is still hot.
    13. Slice into rectangles and leave to cool.
