  • 1 pound - raw prawns
  • 2 tbsp - lemon juice
  • 1/2 tbsp - Jakarta sambal hot
  • 1/2 tbsp - spicy chilli sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp - vegetable oil
  • 2 strips - thinly peeled lemon rind
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp - salt

How to Make Hot and Spicy Fried Prawns

  • Shell and devein prawns.
  • Heat oil in frying pan.
  • Fry onion and garlic until onion is soft.
  • Add Jakarta sambal, spicy chilli sauce and lemon rind.
  • Then add prawns and fry, stirring constantly until prawns change colour.
  • Add tomato and lemon juice and simmer on low heat until gravy is thick and oil starts to separate.
  • Remove lemon rind.
  • Stir in salt and serve immediately.
