  • 300 ml - water
  • 200 g - bitter chocolate
  • 3 tsp - cocoa
  • 2 tsp - instant coffee power
  • 4 tbsp - sugar
  • 1 to 2 drops - almond essence
  • 1 to 2 - egg yolks

How to Make Hot Chocolate Sauce

  • Put 3 tbsp of water, cocoa and instant coffee powder on direct heat on the top of a double boiler.
  • Stir until the water boils and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove it from the heat and stir in the broken up chocolate and sugar to it.
  • Replace it with simmering water and stir until the chocolate melts.
  • Now add almond essence and rest of the water.
  • Stir gently until it gets well mixed.
  • Add just enough liquid to achieve the consistency you want.
  • If it is a little too thin for your liking or you want a thick sauce, beat 2 egg yolks in a bowl with a teaspoon of water; beat the warm sauce gradually into it.
  • Return the pan to a double boiler and reheat very gently.
  • Serve at once or after it gets chilled.
