Ingredients

  • 3 ripe Tomatoes
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. chilli sauce
  • 4 tbsp. fish sauce or soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh coriander

How to Make Hot Tomato Sambal

  • Use a sharp knife to cut a little cross in the skin at the base of each tomato.
  • Place the tomatoes in a bowl and cover with boiling water for 30 seconds to loosen their skins.
  • When they are cool enough to handle, remove the skins from the tomatoes, halve and deseed them.
  • Chop the remaining flesh finely.
  • Place the chopped tomatoes in a bowl and mix with the salt, chilli sauce, fish sauce or soya sauce and coriander.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl or in small bowls and serve.
