Ingredients

  • Fresh Ilsa fish - 2 kg
  • 3 tbsp - mustard oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Grind together:
  • 2 tsp - yellow mustard seed
  • 3-4 - green chillies

How to Make Ilish Bhape

  • Wash fish and drain properly.
  • Marinate with mustard paste, oil, salt and turmeric powder for 1 hour.
  • Take a pressure pan pour a glass of water in it and keep a steel bowl in it.
  • Put all the fish pieces properly in it and if needed 1 tsp mustard oil can be added.
  • Cover and steam for 15 mins without weight.
  • Simmer it for sometime and serve.
