Ingredients

  • 1 kg - Chicken
  • 1 tbsp - rice, roasted and ground
  • 1.5 - coconut, roast and ground
  • 20 - chillies, red, roast and grind
  • 1 tsp - coriander, roast and grind
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds, roast and grind
  • 2 pieces- cinnamon, roast and grind
  • 6 - pepper corns, roast and grind
  • 1 tsp - kuskus (poppy seeds), roast and ground
  • 6 flakes - Garlic, grind
  • 1 inch- ginger, grind
  • 1/4 tsp- Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup - oil
  • 200 g - onions.
  • How to Make Indian Chicken Xacuti:

    1. Roast the raw rice, and then the other masalas including copra and the sliced onions. Now add a little oil and water and grind it.
    2. Now heat oil in a Chinese wok and saute 1 or 2 onion slices, until brown. Then add the ground masala and the turmeric powder and saute until the oil separates.
    3. Now add chicken and fry well. Mix the pieces with the masala.
    4. Then add 1.5 cups of warm water, and simmer until the meat is cooked.
    5. Serve hot with chapattis.
