Ingredients

  • 1 kg - chicken
  • 1 tbsp - rice, roasted and ground
  • 1.5 - coconut, roast and ground
  • 20 - chillies, red, roast and grind
  • 1 tsp - coriander, roast and grind
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds, roast and grind
  • 2 pieces- cinnamon, roast and grind
  • 6 - pepper corns, roast and grind
  • 1 tsp - kuskus (poppy seeds), roast and ground
  • 6 flakes - Garlic, grind
  • 1 inch- ginger, grind
  • 1/4 tsp- turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup - oil
  • 200 g - onions.

How to Make Indian Chicken Xacuti

  • Roast the raw rice, and then the other masalas including copra and the sliced onions. Now add a little oil and water and grind it.
  • Now heat oil in a Chinese wok and saute 1 or 2 onion slices, until brown. Then add the ground masala and the turmeric powder and saute until the oil separates.
  • Now add chicken and fry well. Mix the pieces with the masala.
  • Then add 1.5 cups of warm water, and simmer until the meat is cooked.
  • Serve hot with chapattis.
