Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup - whole Wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup - semolina
  • 1/2 cup - Sugar
  • 1/2 cup - grated Jaggery
  • 1/2 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp - fennel powder
  • 1/2 cup - grated Coconut
  • 2 tbsp - Ghee
  • 1/2 cup - warm Milk
  • Oil for deep frying
  • A pinch of baking soda (if required)
  • How to Make Indian Thekua:

    1. Mix all the ingredients (except baking soda) with milk and knead into a stiff dough. Keep aside for 20 min.
    2. Cut into small pieces in desired shape and size.
    3. Heat oil in a wok and deep fry the thekuas in batches.
    4. Or mix baking soda while mixing the dough and bake the thekuas in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 mins until golden on top.
    5. Dust with some icing sugar before serving.
