How to Make Jackfruit Payasam

  • Pressure cook chopped jackfruit with enough water for just one whistle.
  • Cool and then grind the cooked jackfruit to a fine paste. Keep aside.
  • Meanwhile, dissolve jaggery in a little water and filter to remove dust.
  • Make a syrup and keep aside.
  • Fry cashew nuts and coconut pieces separately till golden brown. Keep aside.
  • Now, combine milk, jackfruit paste, jaggery syrup, cardamom powder, fried coconut pieces and cashewnut.
  • Boil for few minutes. Switch off and then add coconut milk.
  • Serve hot or chilled.
