Ingredients

  • 2 cups - rice flour
  • 5 - red chillies to taste(broken to small pieces)
  • 1 small lemon size - imli
  • 1 cup - oil
  • 1 tsp - urad dal
  • 1 tsp - rai
  • Asafetida
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt

How to Make Katta Upma

  • Soak imli in hot water for 10 mins and extract juice in 2 cups of water.
  • Add the imli juice, salt to the rice flour and make soft dough of it.
  • Take a kadai and add oil. When hot add rai, urad dal, curry leaves, red chillies, and asafoetida.
  • When urad dal becomes brown, add the prepared dough into the oil and keep stirring till done.
  • Cool it for some time and add this upma in to the mixer grinder and grind just for 1 minute.
