Ingredients

  • 1 Chicken
  • 8 ounce plain yoghurt
  • 1.5 tsp - cardamom
  • 1 tbsp - fresh Ginger
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tsp - fennel
  • 1 tsp - caraway
  • 1 tsp - coriander
  • 1 tsp - chilli
  • 1 Onion
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • 1" piece cinnamon stick
  • 5 to 6 cloves
  • chopped Coriander leaves or Parsley
  • 1.5 tsp - salt
  • water as required
  • How to Make Khasta Chicken:

    1. Season the yoghurt with cardamom, ginger, garlic, fennel and salt.
    2. Cut chicken to pieces and let the chicken pieces marinate in the yoghurt for a few hours or overnight.
    3. Heat oil and fry chopped onion so that it becomes transparent.
    4. Add a spoonful of water and crushed caraway, coriander and chilli.
    5. Add strained chicken pieces and fry till the surface gets golden yellow.
    6. Add some water, cinnamon and a few cloves if you like.
    7. Close with a lid and let simmer for 30-45 mins.
    8. Just before serving, add some ground coriander or chopped parsley.
