Ingredients

  • 6 kiwis - chopped
  • 1 cup - rice
  • 3 cups - water
  • 6 cups - milk
  • 12 cardamom pods - shelled
  • 1/2 tsp - ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup - castor sugar
  • 1/4 cup - toasted, flaked almonds
  • 2/3 cup - cream

How to Make Kheer with fresh kiwi

  • Wash the rice very well until the water runs clear.
  • Boil 3 cups of water.
  • Add the rice and cook uncovered for 5 mins. Drain.
  • Combine milk, sugar and cinnamon in a large pan and boil.
  • Add the rice and stir well.
  • Simmer uncovered for about 30 mins or until the milk is reduced.
  • Remove from heat, add the kiwi, cardamom seeds and half of the almonds.
  • Before serving, add cream and garnish with almond flakes.
