How to Make Kozhambu (Sambhar)

  • Grind all the ingredients, except the toor dal, turmeric, salt and curry leaves, with a little water and prepare a paste (not coarse but not too fine either).
  • Cut the vegetables into small pieces and cook with the toor dal and turmeric.
  • Add the paste and salt to taste, mix well and let it boil.
  • Add curry leaves while boiling.
  • Serve with rice or as a side dish with roti.
