  • 1 cup - green saunf (fennel seeds)
  • 1 tsp jintan pills (silver or red)
  • 2.5 tbsp ground sugar
  • 20 gm katha (catechu)

How to Make Laal Saunf

  • Soak katha in a little water for 30 minutes
  • Mix sugar and saunf together
  • Mix katha paste well and pour through sieve on to the seeds
  • Mix well.
  • Sun-dry till the seeds have dried and coloured.
  • This should take approximately 10-12 hours of bright sun.
  • Once totally dry, mix in the jintan balls.
  • Store in airtight jar.
