Ingredients

  • For the cake:
  • Milk-1 cup
  • Butter-4 tbsp (salted)
  • Eggs-4
  • Powdered sugar- 2.5 cups
  • Flour-2 cups
  • Baking powder-2.5 tsp
  • Vanilla essence-1/4 tsp
  • For the crust:
  • Demerara sugar (brown sugar)-1.25 cups
  • Butter-3 tbsp
  • Thick cream-8 tbsp
  • Fresh grated coconut-1.5 cups
  • Cashew nut-1/4 cup
  • Raisins-1/4 cup

How to Make Lacy-Daisy Cake

  • Grease and line a square baking dish of 9 inch by 9 inch.
  • Warm the milk and add butter.
  • Keep aside.
  • Sieve flour and baking powder together, for three times.
  • Sieve the powdered sugar.
  • Beat the egg and sugar till light and creamy, over a pan containing hot water.
  • Add sieved flour and milk-butter mixture little by little, alternatively, to the egg mixture.
  • Add vanilla essence.
  • Bake in a moderate oven at 180 degrees centigrade for 45 minutes or till done.
  • Cool and transfer to a large tray.
  • Mix all the ingredients for the topping and spread over the cooled cake.
  • Grill it in the oven for 10 minutes or till the crust is crisp and brown.
