Ingredients

  • 1 litre - Milk
  • 2 cups - grated Lauki (only the green portion, not the white one)
  • 1 cup - khoya
  • 1/2 cup - Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp - green colour (optional)
  • 4 - elaichies (ground)
  • Almonds and Cashewnuts for garnishing
  • How to Make Lauki Burfi:

    1. Put the milk to boil.
    2. In the meantime, grate the lauki.
    3. When the milk starts boiling, put the grated lauki in it.
    4. When the milk reduces to half its quantity, add khoya, sugar and color.
    5. When the mixture starts leaving the sides of the vessel, pour it in an aluminum tray.
    6. Add elaichi and garnish with dry fruits - almonds and cashewnuts.
    7. Cut into pieces after a hour.
