Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - Split yellow Moong Dal
  • 1/2 cup - Red Lentils ( Masoor daal )
  • 4-5 - Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds, Black Pepper each
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 - Green Chillies, chopped fine
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric
  • Cilantro to garnish
  • 2 - Red dried Chillies
  • How to Make Lehsuni dal:

    1. Heat a pressure cooker; throw in minced garlic and dry fry on low flame till it turns brown.
    2. Sprinkle water if it gets sticky.
    3. Add both dals and 3 cups of water.
    4. Pressure cook dal with salt and turmeric for one whistle and turn off the flame.
    5. Open when the gas eases off.
    6. Heat a pan.
    7. When it gets hot, dry roast cumin seeds and dried red chillies.
    8. When they get roasted, add the cooked dal and boil.
    9. Turn off the flame.
    10. Sprinkle with black pepper generously and mix.
    11. Garnish with cilantro.
