Ingredients

  • Broken Wheat (dalia) - 1 cup
  • Skimmed Milk - 1 litre
  • Dates - 1/2 kg
  • Jaggery - 100 g
  • Powdered Cashew nuts - 1/4 cup
  • Silver Vark for decoration
  • Powdered green Cardamom - 1 tsp
  • How to Make Low Calorie Kheer:

    1. Dry roast the broken wheat and pressure cook for 10 minutes with 2 cups of water.
    2. Add milk, powdered jaggery and diced dates and cook for at least one hour, till it is reduced and thickened.
    3. Add powdered cashew nuts and powdered cardamom and cook for 5 minutes more.
    4. Decorate with silver vark while serving.
