  • 1 - Fish head (or Rohu fish head)
  • 2 cups - Chopped Raw papaya or Squash
  • 1/2 cup - Rice flour
  • 1/3 cup - Masoor dal
  • 1/3 tsp - Baking soda
  • 7 to 8 pods - Garlic
  • 3 tsp - Green chilli
  • Mustard oil
  • Salt
  • How to Make Maasor Muror Khar:

    1. Cut the fish head into two pieces.
    2. Wash and marinate with turmeric powder and salt.
    3. Heat mustard oil and fry the fish head pieces. Keep aside.
    4. In the same oil, add crushed garlic pods and green chillies.
    5. Cut and add the papaya, masoor dal and salt. Mix well.
    6. After 2-3 minutes, add baking soda and mix.
    7. Add 4 cups of water. Mix well and cover with a lid.
    8. When the water starts to boil, add the fish head pieces and rice flour. Mix.
    9. Cook on a low flame until the gravy becomes thick.
    10. Sprinkle some fresh coriander and a few drops of mustard oil.
    11. Serve with warm rice.
