Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp - sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp - Poppy Seeds
  • 8 tbsp - scrapped dry Coconut
  • 8 tbsp - Coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp - Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp - Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp - nagkeshar, optional
  • 1 tsp - peppercorns
  • 10 - black Cardamoms
  • 8 - Bay Leaves
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • How to Make Maharashtrian Kala Masala:

    1. Roast cloves, peppercorns, cardamom and cinnamon in just a little oil.
    2. Dry roast all other ingredients separately and grind all to a fine powder.
    3. Store in an air tight container.
