Ingredients

  • 25 gm - fox nut (makhana)
  • 1/2 liter - Milk
  • 1/2 cup - Milk Cream
  • 2 - cardamom, crushed
  • 1/2 cup - Sugar or as per taste
  • 1/2 cup - chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup - clarified Butter

How to Make Makhane ki Kheer (Foxnut Pudding)

  • Heat clarified butter in a wok, add fox nut and roast them on low heat for 5-7 minutes till slightly golden in color.
  • Cool and grind gently for 1 minute to make a granulated powder.
  • Roast chopped nuts in the same wok for 5 minutes and keep it aside.
  • Boil milk with cream in a heavy bottom pan.
  • As it starts boiling add crushed cardamoms and ground fox nut powder.
  • Let it cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add sugar and cook it for 10-15 minutes on low heat till it thickens.
  • Remove from heat and keep in refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • Serve chilled with adding chopped nuts on the top.
