  • 1 cup - Rice flour
  • 1/2 cup - Finely chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup - Grated carrots
  • 2 tsp - Jeera seeds
  • 1 - Green chilli, chopped
  • 2 - 3 strands- Chopped cilantro
  • 2 - 3 tsp - Oil or ghee
  • Salt - as per taste
  • 2 cups - Water

How to Make Masala Akki Rotti

  • Mix all the ingredients except oil in a mixing bowl.
  • Add enough water and make a batter out of it.
  • The batter should be a little thicker than the dosa/idli batter.
  • Grease the tawa completely with a few drops of oil.
  • Take a handful of the batter and spread it on the tawa with your hands.
  • Place the tawa on stove and cook covered on medium heat.
  • After about 1/2 - 1 min, pour some oil/ghee and cook covered for another 2-3 mins.
  • Remove from heat and serve hot with butter and green chutney or with any other sabzi of your choice.
