Ingredients

  • 4 - karelas
  • 1 tbsp - garlic paste (or 2-3 pods of garlic)
  • A few curry leaves (kadipatta)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to fry
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder

How to Make Masala Karela

  • Scrape the karelas and cut them into thin slices. Add 1 tsp salt and mix well. Set aside for 30 mins.
  • Then wash and squeeze out the excess water.
  • In a kadai, put oil and sprinkle the kadipatta leaves on it.
  • Add the garlic and fry for a second.
  • Add the karela slices, salt and turmeric powder.
  • Fry till the slices are tender.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
