Ingredients

  • 8-10 - baby potatoes
  • 1-2 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 2-3 tbsp - tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - garam masala
  • 1 tsp - coriander-cumin powder
  • 1 cup - water
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • Kasuri methi for garnishing
  • Cornflour paste if needed
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Masaledar Aloo

  • Wash the potatoes and boil them with a little salt (do not overcook).
  • Peel the skin and keep the potatoes aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
  • When the seeds are done, add ginger-garlic paste.
  • Add tomato sauce/paste when the ginger-garlic paste is done.
  • Cook for a few minutes.
  • Add the garam masala, red chilli powder, turmeric and coriander-cumin powder.
  • Add water and bring to boil.
  • Add some cornflour paste if the gravy is too watery.
  • Garnish with kasuri methi.
  • Serve hot with roti or rice.
