Ingredients

  • 3 bunches - fresh fenugreek leaves
  • 20 gms - groundnut
  • 6-8 - green chillies
  • a small rasagolla size - tamarind
  • a small lime size - jaggery
  • 2 tsp - oil (for seasoning)

How to Make Methi Chutney

  • Wash and chop finely the fenugreek leaves.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and to this add a little mustard seed, cumin seeds and when it crackles add chopped green chillies, a pinch of turmeric powder and saute.
  • When the chillies are fried, add groundnuts and fry
  • Add the chopped fenugreek leaves, jaggery, salt to taste and cook for a while and add tamarind after removing from the fire.
  • Cool it and grind to a fine paste.
  • Goes well with chapatti or hot rice or even with plain rawa dosa.
