  • 1 cup - Rice flakes
  • 1/2 tsp - black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • few - Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - Cashewnuts
  • 1/4 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - oil, 1 tbsp - ghee.
  • How to Make Milagu aval:

    1. Wash the rice flakes and drain the water.
    2. Coarsely grind the black pepper and cumin seeds and curry leaves.
    3. In a pan, heat oil, splutter mustard seeds and when it crackles, add the cashew nuts.
    4. When it browns, add rice flakes and the pepper-cumin powder.
    5. Saute for a minute, add salt and mix well. Keep on low flame for a while.
    6. Serve hot after adding ghee.
