Ingredients

  • Channa Dal - 200 gram
  • Pudina - 1 cup (chopped)
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Garlic - 3 pods
  • Onion - 1 (chopped)
  • Clove - 1
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 inch
  • Saunf (fennel seeds) - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Curry leaves - a few
  • Whole Red Chillies - 2
  • How to Make Mint Masal Vadai:

    1. Soak channa dal for 1 hour and drain the water completely.
    2. Divide into 2 portions. Add saunf, cinnamon, clove, ginger, garlic and whole red chillies to first portion of channa dhal and grind to a fine paste. Set aside.
    3. Coarsely grind the remaining soaked channa dhal.
    4. Mix the dal paste, coarsely ground channa dal, chopped pudina, onions, green chillies and curry leaves together.
    5. Make small size balls and flatten it slightly with your finger.
    6. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry all them all to golden brown.
    7. Drain the excess oil and serve hot.
