How to Make Mixed Vegetable Kootu With Rasam Powder

  • Wash the dals and pressure-cook up to 3 hisses.
  • Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds, urad dal and red chilli.
  • When the seeds splutter, add the onion, green chillies and tomato and stir continuously until the onions turn translucent and the tomatoes mushy.
  • Add the mixed vegetables and curry leaves to the pan and stir until they are a bit cooked.
  • Add the cooked dals with salt and rasam powder and bring to boil.
  • Put the flame on simmer, close the lid and cook for 15 minutes.
  • Serve hot with rice topped with ghee.
