  • Moong Dal - 1 cup
  • Jaggery - 1 cup
  • Shredded cheese - 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  • Roasted Cashewnuts - 6 (cut into pieces)
  • Roasted Almonds - 6 (Cut into pieces)
  • Roasted raisins - 6
  • Ghee - 4 tbsps

How to Make Mohini Halwa

  • Soak moong dal for 1/2 hr.
  • Grind the soaked dal coarsely.
  • Steam cook the ground dal for 5 minutes.
  • Crush the cooked dal into small crumbs in the form of an uppuma.
  • Heat jaggery in a pan by adding 1/2 a cup of water and prepare the syrup.
  • Add cardamom powder and let it boil well for 2 minutes.
  • Add the prepared dal with the jaggery syrup and mix well.
  • Add some ghee and stir the mixture well.
  • The jaggery syrup should dry and must not stick to the pan.
  • Add the cashews, almonds and raisins.
  • Garnish with shredded cheese on top.
