Ingredients

  • 1 cup pomegranate (use the seedless variety)
  • 1 cup moong sprouts
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 4-5 red chillies
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • A few curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing
  • Cucumber, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated (optional)
  • 1-2 green chillies, finely chopped (optional)

How to Make Moong and Pomegranate Salad

  • Mix pomegranate, moong sprouts and coconut well.
  • Add salt and lemon juice and mix well.
  • Heat the oil and add mustard, curry leaves, red chillies and asafoetida.
  • Season the mixture.
  • Coriander leaves can be used for garnishing.
  • Finely chopped cucumber can be added to the above.
  • A tsp of grated ginger can also be added.
  • If you want to make it slightly spicy, add 1-2 finely chopped green chillies.
