Ingredients

  • Moong Dal-1/2 cup
  • Red Chillies-2
  • Coriander Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Cumin Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilli powder-1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking the masala-1 tsp
  • Oil for deep frying
  • For the Dough:
  • Maida-1 cup
  • Water as required
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil-1 tsp

How to Make Moong Dal Kachori

  • Soak moong dal in water for 20 minutes. In a pan, add oil followed by red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt.
  • Strain moong dal and grind coarsely. Add this paste to the masala mixture.
  • Add salt and mix well. Cook till raw smell goes away. In a bowl, add maida, salt and water. Make a soft dough.
  • Roll out the dough into pooris and fill it with 2 tsp of moong dal stuffing. Cover it nicely and roll it once again.
  • Heat oil and fry the kachoris. Fry the remaining kachoris in similar manner. Serve with sweet and green chutney.
