Ingredients

  • Moong Dal-1/2 cup
  • Rice Flour-1/2 cup
  • Red Chilli Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Butter-2 tsp
  • Salt-to taste
  • Asafoetida-1 pinch
  • Oil-to deep fry

How to Make Moong Dal Sev

  • Dry roast moong dal till golden and cool it.
  • Powder it finely once it cools down.
  • Add rice flour, red chilli powder, butter, salt and asafoetida to moong dal powder.
  • Adding water to it makes a smooth dough.
  • Heat oil in the kadhai and in the 'Sev Sancha', press add the dough and squeeze it into the hot oil.
  • Once golden brown, take it out and serve hot with tea or coffee.
  • Note: Sev Sancha or Murukku Maker is an Indian snack maker typically made out of brass.
