Ingredients

  • 1 cup - whole Wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp - semolina
  • 1/4 tsp - soda bicarb
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 cup - coriander chopped
  • 1 cup - Bottle Gourd grated
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp - Curd
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Moothias:

    1. Squeeze out the excess water from grated gourd.
    2. In a large plate, sieve the flour with the soda.
    3. Add semolina, make a well in the center.
    4. Add all other ingredients in the well.
    5. Knead into a soft dough.
    6. Use greased palms and shape into 6 inch long, 1 inch wide rolls.
    7. Arrange in a colander to boil over steam.
    8. Or use a double walled steamer.
    9. Cover lid tightly and steam for 1/2 hour.
    10. Cut into pieces.
    11. Serve piping hot with kadhi or fresh curd.
