How to Make Muttai kodu kootu

  • Wash and soak the chickpeas with plenty of water overnight.
  • Next day, pressure cook with a little salt and keep aside.
  • Chop the cabbage finely.
  • Boil it in salt water and turmeric powder. Keep aside.
  • Grind grated coconut, jeera, and red chillies into a paste.
  • In a pan, heat oil and roast the ingredients for the seasoning.
  • Add the boiled cabbage, chickpeas, and coconut paste.
  • Boil till the kootu becomes thick and the dal and cabbage go soft.
  • Serve hot with rice.
