Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 1 - onion, finely sliced
  • 6 - garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 cup - fresh Green peas (shelled and separately boiled. Reserve 2 tbsp stock water from the cooked peas)
  • 2 tbsp - grated Coconut (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp - salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp - pepper powder (optional)
  • How to Make Mutter Ki Dry Subzi:

    1. Heat oil in a pan or karahi on a medium heat.
    2. Add sliced onion and fry on a medium heat until golden colour.
    3. Add chopped garlic and fry for 2 - 3 minutes.
    4. Turn the heat to very low and add red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
    5. Gently stir well for 2 minutes until well combined.
    6. Add separately boiled peas, grated coconut and salt to taste.
    7. Sprinkle 2 tbsp peas stock or normal water.
    8. Mix all the ingredients well.
    9. Cover with a tight lid and cook on a medium to low heat for 10 minutes until done - water dries up - peas well combined with all the ingredients.
    10. Sprinkle 1/4 tsp pepper powder if required for a spice flavour.
    11. Serve as a side dish with rice - rotis - pulao.
