Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Rice (basmati preferably)
  • 250g - Green peas (shelled)
  • 1 tbsp - Ghee
  • 3 - Cloves
  • 2 - Bay Leaves
  • 1 stick - Cinnamon
  • 4 cups - water
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Mutter wale chawal:

    1. Pick, wash and soak the rice for 20 minutes. Lightly heat the ghee in a heavy-bottom vessel.
    2. Add cloves, bay leaves and cinnamon and fry for a few seconds.
    3. Add green peas and fry for a minute.
    4. Add the soaked rice, 4 cups of water and salt and mix it well.
    5. Bring it to a boil. After it's boiled, let it simmer. Cook covered with a lid.
    6. Lightly mix it once or twice when the rice is being cooked.
    7. Cook till the rice is done.
