Ingredients

  • 500 g - Mutton, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup - Wheat flour
  • 2 - Onions, medium sized
  • 2 - Potatoes, medium
  • 1 - Onion, chopped fine
  • 1 tbsp - Ginger Garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp - Worchester sauce
  • 1 tbsp - Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp - Butter
  • 1 tsp - Salt and pepper
  • Red Chilli powder - As required
  • How to Make Mutton Brown Stew:

    1. Cook mutton with half the chopped onion and the ginger garlic paste, and chilli powder, till almost done.
    2. Slice onions and potatoes into long pieces.
    3. Fry each separately till crisp and set aside.
    4. In a wide pan, heat the butter and fry the remaining chopped onion till brown.
    5. Add the wheat flour till well roasted.
    6. Add about 2 cups water and stir carefully, breaking lumps if any.
    7. Add the mutton with the water and mix well.
    8. Add the two sauces, salt and pepper and mix well.
    9. Bring to a boil.
    10. Add the fried onions, potatoes and simmer till mutton is tender.
    11. Adjust thickness of the gravy as you desire.
    12. Check spices and serve hot with bread and a salad.
