  • 500 g - Mutton, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup - Wheat flour
  • 2 - Onions, medium sized
  • 2 - Potatoes, medium
  • 1 - Onion, chopped fine
  • 1 tbsp - Ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp - Worchester sauce
  • 1 tbsp - Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp - Butter
  • 1 tsp - Salt and pepper
  • Red chilli powder - As required

How to Make Mutton Brown Stew

  • Cook mutton with half the chopped onion and the ginger garlic paste, and chilli powder, till almost done.
  • Slice onions and potatoes into long pieces.
  • Fry each separately till crisp and set aside.
  • In a wide pan, heat the butter and fry the remaining chopped onion till brown.
  • Add the wheat flour till well roasted.
  • Add about 2 cups water and stir carefully, breaking lumps if any.
  • Add the mutton with the water and mix well.
  • Add the two sauces, salt and pepper and mix well.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Add the fried onions, potatoes and simmer till mutton is tender.
  • Adjust thickness of the gravy as you desire.
  • Check spices and serve hot with bread and a salad.
