  • 1 tbsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Sugar

  • How to Make Mutton in Poppy Seed Sauce:

    1. Rub the mutton with onion paste, garlic paste, ginger paste, chilli powder, yogurt and turmeric.
    2. Set aside to marinate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight, in a refrigerator.
    3. Heat the oil in a pressure cooker, add the sugar and then the mutton with its marinade. Cook for 5 mins.
    4. After 5 mins, add salt and 1/4 cup of water. Close the pressure cooker lid and cook for 15 minutes.
    5. Then take the lid off and add the green chillies, posto (poppy seed) paste, coconut paste and mustard paste.
    6. Let the mutton simmer for 5-10 minutes.
    7. If you wish, you may drizzle a tbsp of mustard oil.
    8. Serve hot with rice.
