Ingredients

  • 100 g - Toor Dal
  • 100 g - Mutton
  • 100 g - Sambar Onions
  • 1 - tomato, medium sized
  • 2 - chillies
  • 2 tsp - sambar powder
  • Tamarind, a small Lemon sized ball
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp each - mustard and black gram for seasoning
  • How to Make Mutton Sambar:

    1. Pressure cook tuvar dal with turmeric powder until done.
    2. Saute and pressure cook mutton until it is cooked well.
    3. Heat oil, season with mustard and black gram. Add onions and sliced tomato and saute well.
    4. Now add cooked mutton and tuvar dal.
    5. Mix well after adding thick extract of tamarind.
    6. Now add sambhar powder and salt to taste.
    7. Pressure cook for a minute until onions get cooked.
    8. Serve with idli or dosa.
