  • 200 g - all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1 tsp - carom seeds (ajwain)
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp - vegetable oil (to be added in dough)
  • 2 cup - water or as needed
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • How to Make Namak Pare (savory snack with tea):

    1. Take all ingredients (except oil for frying) in a bowl and knead a smooth dough.
    2. Keep it covered with kitchen towel or 20 minutes.
    3. Apply some oil on your flat board and put one round ball on it.
    4. Roll it to the size of chapatti with rolling pin.
    5. Make cut marks throughout the whole round as shown below.
    6. Likewise make vertical cut marks.
    7. Heat oil for frying in an open pan, add the cut pieces one by one and keep the heat low.
    8. Allow them to fry on low heat for 5 minutes with continuous stirring.
    9. Now slowly turn high heat and fry for 5 minutes with stirring (keep an eye not to burn the pieces).
    10. Likewise repeat the process with remaining round balls.
    11. Drain on paper towel, let them cool and store in airtight container.
    12. Enjoy with tea or coffee.
