Ingredients

  • 500 g - gawar
  • 1 bunch - Coriander leaves
  • 4 tsp - Pomegranate seeds
  • 2 tsp - coriander powder
  • 4 - Green chillies
  • 1 tsp - Ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 10 - Garlic flakes
  • Pinch - Garam Masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • For garnishing:
  • Fried Cashew nuts - a few
  • How to Make Nutritious Gawar:

    1. Pressure cook gawar up to one whistle and keep it aside.
    2. Grind together the onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, garlic, ginger, and pomegranate seeds to a fine paste.
    3. Heat oil in a pan and add the ground paste to it and fry for a few minutes.
    4. Add the boiled gawar and the dry masalas to it.
    5. Keep stirring till the oil separates.
    6. Add 1/4 cup water and cook under pressure on a low heat for another 5 minutes.
    7. Garnish with cashewnuts. Serve hot.
