Ingredients

  • 1 big chicken, boned and cut into Meat cubes
  • 4 flakes Garlic
  • ¼ inch Ginger
  • 1 inch piece unripe Papaya
  • ½ cup curds
  • 3 tbsp. ketchup
  • Juice of ½ Lime
  • Pinch of Nutmeg
  • Salt and chilli powder to taste
  • For the basting sauce:
  • 1 tsp. ground Cardamoms
  • 14 tsp. each of chilli powder and pepper powder
  • Juice of ½ a lime

How to Make Oil Free Murg Tikka

  • Grind together garlic, ginger and papaya to a paste.
  • Mix with curds, ketchup, lime juice and spices.
  • Put in the chicken pieces and set aside for 4 to 5 hours.
  • Thread on a skewer and brown by roasting on hot charcoal fire.
  • Baste the meat with the marinade as it becomes dry, till all the marinade has been used up.
  • When cooked, brush over with basting sauce and serve hot.
