Ingredients

  • 200 g - Plain flour
  • 100 g - Butter
  • 165 g - Sugar
  • 150 g - Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 tsp - Grated Orange zest
  • 1 tbsp - Orange juice
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp - Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tbsp - Flaked Almonds ( optional).
  • How to Make Orange Ricotta Cake:

    1. Preheat the oven to 190 degree Celsius.
    2. Grease and line a 20 cm round baking tray.
    3. Cream together the butter and sugar until creamy.
    4. Add the eggs one by one and continue beating with an electric beater.
    5. Now add the ricotta cheese and beat until it blends together.
    6. Sift the flour, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda to the liquid mixture, along with that add the orange juice and grated orange zest.
    7. Mix with a wooden spatula until it's combined.
    8. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking tray and sprinkle with flaked almonds.
    9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
    10. Serve the cake warm with whipped cream and fresh fruits.
