  • 200 g - Plain flour
  • 100 g - Butter
  • 165 g - Sugar
  • 150 g - Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 tsp - Grated orange zest
  • 1 tbsp - Orange juice
  • 3 Eggs
  • 2 tsp - Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tbsp - Flaked almonds ( optional).

How to Make Orange Ricotta Cake

  • Preheat the oven to 190 degree Celsius.
  • Grease and line a 20 cm round baking tray.
  • Cream together the butter and sugar until creamy.
  • Add the eggs one by one and continue beating with an electric beater.
  • Now add the ricotta cheese and beat until it blends together.
  • Sift the flour, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda to the liquid mixture, along with that add the orange juice and grated orange zest.
  • Mix with a wooden spatula until it's combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking tray and sprinkle with flaked almonds.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
  • Serve the cake warm with whipped cream and fresh fruits.
