Ingredients

  • 4 cups - Milk
  • 1 cup - Water
  • 1/4 cup - Rice rava
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 1 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • a few Cashewnuts
  • Silvered Almonds
  • a few Saffron strands
  • 1 tbsp - Ghee
  • How to Make Paal Payasam:

    1. Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel and fry the cashews until light brown.
    2. To the same ghee, add the rice rava and fry till it turns brown.
    3. Now add the milk, water and cook on medium flame for 15-20 minutes.
    4. Stir frequently until the rice rava is cooked.
    5. Now add the sugar and cook until it is dissolved.
    6. Finally, add the cardamom powder, fried cashews, saffron strands and give it a stir. Take off heat.
    7. Serve this pudding chilled or warm topped with silvered almonds.
