  • 4 cups - Milk
  • 1 cup - Water
  • 1/4 cup - Rice rava
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 1 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • a few cashewnuts
  • Silvered almonds
  • a few saffron strands
  • 1 tbsp - Ghee

How to Make Paal Payasam

  • Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel and fry the cashews until light brown.
  • To the same ghee, add the rice rava and fry till it turns brown.
  • Now add the milk, water and cook on medium flame for 15-20 minutes.
  • Stir frequently until the rice rava is cooked.
  • Now add the sugar and cook until it is dissolved.
  • Finally, add the cardamom powder, fried cashews, saffron strands and give it a stir. Take off heat.
  • Serve this pudding chilled or warm topped with silvered almonds.
