  • Palak - 1/2 kg, chopped
  • Tur dal - 1/2 cup
  • Coconut milk - 1 cup
  • Onion - 2, finely chopped
  • Curry powder - 2 tsps
  • Red chilli powder - 2 tsps
  • Coriander leaves
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard and cumin seeds - 1 tsp each
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Palak Sabzi

  • Cook the palak and tur dal in a pressure cooker (about 2 whistles).
  • In the meantime, heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan or vessel. Add the cumin and mustard seeds along with the curry leaves.
  • Add the onions followed by ginger-garlic paste.
  • Fry the onions until golden brown, then add coconut milk.
  • Add a little turmeric, curry powder and red chilli powder based on your proportions.
  • When the ingredients leave an aroma, add salt and let the gravy boil.
  • Mix the palak-tuvar dal mixture to the gravy.
  • Allow the preparation to cook well.
  • Serve with rice or chapatti, garnished with coriander leaves.
