Ingredients

  • To prepare the kozhukattai:
  • 1 cup - rice flour
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • To prepare the poornam:
  • 1 cup - grated paneer
  • 1 tbsp - finely chopped almonds
  • 1 tbsp - finely chopped pistachios
  • 1 tbsp - finely chopped cashew nuts
  • 1/2 tsp - cardamom powder
  • 1 cup - powdered jaggery
  • 1 tbsp - ghee

How to Make Paneer Dry Fruit Kozhukattai

  • Make the jaggery syrup by heating the jaggery in a thick bottom kadai.
  • Filter the syrup to get rid of the dust particles.
  • Heat ghee in a kadai and roast the dry fruits lightly.
  • Add all these to the jaggery syrup along with the cardamom powder. Heat them till they get to a thickened poornam mixture.
  • For the kozhukattai, heat 1 cup of water in a kadai.
  • Add a little salt to the water.
  • When water boils, add rice flour and stir well.
  • Once the flour thickens, remove from fire and set aside.
  • Mix the dough well with a little oil and make small balls out of the mixture.
  • Flatten the balls and then press with your thumb to get a cup shape.
  • Fill it in the poornam and then steam cook the kozhukattai.
