Ingredients

  • For rotis:
  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup maida
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water for the dough
  • For filling: 2 cups - paneer, cubed
  • 2 cups - potato, boiled and cubed
  • 3 tsp - tamarind paste
  • 4 shallots, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - garam masala
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 4 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Paneer frankie

  • Combine flours, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt with oil and water to make a soft dough.
  • Keep aside for an hour.
  • Heat oil in pan, add cumin seeds, shallots, garlic and saute for 2-3 mins.
  • Now add boiled potato cubes, paneer cubes, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder and garam masala.
  • Stir well ans sprinkle some water.
  • Cook covered for 5 mins on medium-low heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the tamarind paste and cook for 2 mins.
  • Make rotis out of the dough.
  • To serve:
  • Place the rotis on a flat surface and put a spoonful of potato and paneer curry.
  • Fold the edges from all sides except one.
  • Heat some oil on a tawa and place the frankie on it.
  • Cook until brown spots appear on both sides.
  • Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
