Ingredients

  • 1 cup - powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup - flour
  • 1/2 cup - butter
  • 1/2 cup - roasted peanuts, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp - baking powder
  • 3 tbsp - cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 2 eggs
  • For Icing:
  • 1.5 cup - icing sugar
  • 1/2 cup - peanuts
  • 2 tbsp - cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp - butter
  • 1/2 tsp - vanilla essence
  • hot water

How to Make Peanut Brownies

  • Grease a baking tray (8 and a half square inch). Line it with butter paper and grease the paper.
  • Preheat the oven to 170 degrees centigrade.
  • Melt butter in a sauce pan.
  • Add cocoa and cook stirring for 1 minute.
  • Remove from fire and cool.
  • Mix flour with baking powder.
  • Beat eggs with essence and add to the cocoa mixture.
  • Add the flour, sugar and peanuts.
  • Pour in the prepared tin.
  • Bake till a tooth pick inserted in the middle of the tin comes out clean (About 20-25 minutes).
  • Take out the tin and cool for 5 minutes.
  • Turn out on a baking tray, remove the paper and turn again on a wire rack.
  • Cool completely before icing.
  • For Icing: Melt the butter. Add cocoa powder and cook for few seconds. Remove from fire.
  • Add the icing sugar and vanilla.
  • Add boiling hot water, little by little till the icing is a soft paste.
  • Pour over the brownie and spread with a pallet knife dipped in hot water.
  • Sprinkle peanuts on top. When the icing is set, cut the brownie into 12 pieces.
