  • 1 cup - Channa dal
  • 1 cup - raw Peanuts
  • 1-onion (big and chopped)
  • 3- Green chillies (chopped)
  • 1 tsp - Ginger (chopped)
  • 2- Garlic Cloves (crushed)
  • 1/2 tsp - Fennel seeds (crushed)
  • 5- Curry leaves
  • Few Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • Salt
  • Oil for deep-frying
  • How to Make Peanut Channa dal Masal Vada:

    1. Soak together the channa dal and raw peanuts for two hours.
    2. Grind them coarsely without adding water, if it is too hard to grind just sprinkle a few drops of water.
    3. Now add the chopped onions, chopped green chillies, ginger pieces, crushed garlic, chopped curry leaves, coriander leaves, crushed fennel seeds and salt to the grounded batter.
    4. Heat the oil for deep-frying.
    5. Make small balls from the vada batter and flatten them.
    6. Drop gently the flattened vadas to the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown.
    7. Drain the excess oil with a paper towel and enjoy.
