  • 1 cup - channa dal
  • 1 cup - raw peanuts
  • 1-onion (big and chopped)
  • 3- green chillies (chopped)
  • 1 tsp - ginger (chopped)
  • 2- garlic cloves (crushed)
  • 1/2 tsp - fennel seeds (crushed)
  • 5- curry leaves
  • Few coriander leaves (chopped)
  • Salt
  • Oil for deep-frying

How to Make Peanut Channa dal Masal Vada

  • Soak together the channa dal and raw peanuts for two hours.
  • Grind them coarsely without adding water, if it is too hard to grind just sprinkle a few drops of water.
  • Now add the chopped onions, chopped green chillies, ginger pieces, crushed garlic, chopped curry leaves, coriander leaves, crushed fennel seeds and salt to the grounded batter.
  • Heat the oil for deep-frying.
  • Make small balls from the vada batter and flatten them.
  • Drop gently the flattened vadas to the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown.
  • Drain the excess oil with a paper towel and enjoy.
